A Choice Nomination for the 2016 AltFi Awards

It was only last April that Octopus Investments launched their new peer-to-peer lending product, Octopus Choice. Since then, its reputation has continually risen in the realm of alternative financing. Upon receiving the AltFi Awards People's Choice nomination, Vanessa Iman of Octopus Choice stated, "We were extremely happy to know our product is creating waves within the P2P space and we have the support of our audience."

AltFi is a financial news site providing valuable coverage for every part of the Alternative Finance space, including crowdfunding, P2P finance, online invoice funding and online seed investment. Its hugely experienced team is lead by David Stevenson, a columnist at Financial Times, Investment Week and Money Week. Now in its third year, the AltFi Awards recognise excellence both for established and up and coming platforms.

How did Choice gather such a following so quickly?

Though Choice is a departure for Octopus Investments, it’s built on their impressive track record as a lender. Since 2009, Octopus Investments has lent more than £2 billion across 3,500 loans, and lost less than 0.1%.

“The confidence we have in our track record,” said Iman, “has allowed us to pioneer an innovative model which we think could become more and more prominent in years to come: co-lending.”

Iman believes the strength of the Choice team consists of their transparency in teaching each other about products, their skilled communication and their shared love for lunchtime burritos.
