Stefano has designs on MilanMay 30, 2017
June 1-3, Milan is set to play host to an international group of digital designers for three days of talks, workshops, networking, awards and, of course, partying Italian style. Among the prestigious group of designers judging this year’s competition, and eating all the free prosciutto and mozza balls they can handle, will be Octopus Labs’ own Stefano De Rosa.
The 2017 Digital Design Awards jury includes gurus, leaders and national and international professionals — all completely independent and highly qualified. “I attended Digital Design Days last year, but this is my first year on the official jury panel,” says Stefano. “I’m very honoured to take part, along with so many professionals in the digital industry.”
Asked what he looks for in good digital design, Stefano’s response was straightforward: “Make difficult things appear simple. Every product has a different goal and different design, but the first rule for me is to make it simple.”
Stefano stresses the importance of clean, usable design for fintech products. “User experience is an important part of the design work at Labs. A good design with good usability is the perfect recipe for a successful fintech product.”
Stefano characterises his own style as simple and effective. “I’m always following and studying the trends of digital design.” Along with being highly effective, Stefano tries to mix in a little fun and maintain a sense of play.
After the upcoming launch of the new Octopus Group and Octopus Cash websites, Stefano has high hopes that the all-star Octopus design team will be ready for some awards of their own in the near future.
