Fintech forces converge at London Fintech Week

“It’s clear we’re still only at the beginning of the fintech boom,” reported Joe Jones, after witnessing the variety of technology, businesses and enthusiastic participants at this year’s London Fintech Week. The conference is truly an international event, with thousands of delegates from over 50 countries gathering in London to exhibit, workshop, network and party.

“It’s fun to get out and see what other people are doing,” said Joe, who saw the event as a great opportunity for Labs to engage with other leading fintech brands, “and to talk about our products to people that are just as excited about the sector as we are.”

Now in its fourth year, London Fintech Week has played a significant role in enhancing dialogue between established multinationals, innovation firms, disruptive start-ups, governments, media and investors. This year’s conference included workshops on blockchain technology, robo advisory, PSD2 and many other topics dear to fintechers.

“The people we spoke to ranged from other b2bs to journalists, venture capitalists, and people interested in putting their money in Choice and Cash,” said Felicia Kodderitzsch, Operations Associate at Labs. “We actually ran out of Octopus Cash and Octopus Choice brochures long before we ran out of free gifts, so it seems people were genuinely interested!”
